Horrible Bosses is the story of three friends, Nick Hendricks (Jason Bateman), Dale Arbus (Charlie Day) and Kurt Buckman (Jason Sudeikis), who one night, tired of the constant abuse that must suffer from their bosses, decide to hire a hitman to end the ordeal.
I´d just check some overall data on the Internet, and one of the things that immediately struck me was that three people were needed to write it. I'm not saying it is wrong. Moreover, it is known that two heads are better together than one, not to mention if more. But in this case I wonder which of the three must have had to go mad thinking of the worst of what they called "creativity" and provide each of the jokes in very bad taste, which made up this peculiar sense of comedy.
That is ... After having seen many examples of what it is the comic genre of the last decade, it is clear that, while the sense of humor has evolved somewhat, leaving behind the innocence that we saw in Jack Lemmon or Cary Grant, it is also true that this lost innocence has turned, in the end, into the cinema of the insults and high pitch jokes.
Horrible Bosses has a humor that is anything but fine and everything but funny. It is sad to think of the millions of americans who had to pay an entry and then laugh out loud. This implies having an easy laugh, or that many viewers were so intellectually limited, as not to notice the shortcomings of this film, and so, enjoy it. Right now I can remember a scene in which Kurt, having sneaked into his boss´s house, entered his room and passed his boss´s brush through his bottom. This, more than fun, I would describe as unpleasant.
Another striking feature was to meet with actors like Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, lending their acting skills to make a fool of themselves again, and not bringing anything good to their resumes. Their previous work in both cases had been perfectly forgettable ("Hall Pass him", "Just Go With It" her).
In turn, it surprises to see stars like Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey lowering themselves, because while I think that they both pretty well fulfill their roles as undesirable leaders, it strikes me that at this stage of their careers they could have been a little more selective and say no to this mess.
